Tough Girl

Yesterday Peyton was driving Emily in his jeep. Well at one point he took a turn too fast and Emily literally flew out and landed on my neighbors drive way. I had the mail in my hand I threw it and ran to get her, expecting her to be very upset, right? Nope not Emmy, she is a tough old girl. She didn't even shed one tear. She pointed to her arm where it hurt and then pointed back to the jeep. She got right back in. Peyton felt awful, but we assured him it was an accident. When she got back in, Peyton leaned over to hug her and asked "you okay sweet girl?"

DC Bear

DC Bear came to visit us for 2 nights this week. He is the class bear and he goes to all the kids homes. Peyton was so proud to bring DC bear home. We took him to church, we played games, read him stories. I think DC had a blast!!!

How could I leave out this picture?

First trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. The kids had a great time. We went on a hay ride and the kids got to ride on a hay train. However, Matthew had to point out to me that we weren't there to take pictures. I have to admit pumpkin patches are my absolute favorite thing so I go a little picture happy. We are actually going to another patch today, so I can't wait to see what kind of pictures I get.

Why you need friends

I love my friends. What has prompted this outburst of appreciation? Well, I went to the store this morning and bought everything on my list. Great right? Not when I forgot to write down a key ingredient for my soup tonight...chicken stock. Since I went to the store yesterday and today I did not want to go back hauling in 3 kids, which with my luck 2 of them would be crying. So I started calling around, and Shannon has come to my rescue. She brings her daughter to my neck of the woods for gymnastics everynight and wouldn't you know it she needed to go to the store tonight as well. So, she is picking up some stock for me. Thanks girl!! Matthew will be extemely happy as well.

Popcorn girl....again

I told y'all we have popcorn everyday. Emmy looked so cute enjoying her popcorn in her cup, I decided to snap a few pics. I love thid first picture, mostly because of her expression and her hair is perfect.
Want some?????

This is the usual Emmy look. You can kind of tell she is thinking "what are you looking at?" or is it "Get that camera out of my face woman!" ?

Alli's Sip and See

My friend Shannon gave me a Sip and See for Alli. It was a lot of fun to show off my little girl. Here are my friends Jennifer, Robin, and Danielle who is holding the sleeping angel.

Holly and Shannon
Danielle and Leah.
April, Courtney, and Dina my dear friends from play group.
Me and mother in law Cathy.

Update

No big changes in the Nielsen household. I have broken a major rule and started letting Alli sleep on her tummy. This decision was made after 3 days of her not sleeping unless she was in my arms. To say the least I had a major melt down yesterday and decided after much prayer I would put her to sleep on her tummy. I put her down at 8:00 and I woke her at 2:30 to feed her because I was about to bust. Can you believe it? So tonight I will wake her around 10:00 to eat again and then let her go, I'm praying for an all nighter.

Emily is talking up a storm. This week alone I think she has added like 20 words to her vocabulary. I love it when she talks. Most of the time it is "read" and she is handing me a book. Or it's "teeth" and she wants her toothbrush.

Peyton is doing great at school. I love his school and his teacher, she is amazing. My prayers this summer for a good teacher payed off. This was a big deal because Peyton nor myself were crazy about his previous teachers, but Peyton has really clicked with Mrs. Sorrells. Every day when he jumps in the truck he is so excited to tell me everything that happened. My little man is growing up. He is such a huge help with the girls. I now know why God gave him such a sweet heart because He knew he would have two sisters.

Things have changed

Okay after looking back at previous posts I see the one with Alli sleeping like an angel. Well I don't know what happened but that angel is gone. I am hoping and praying its her approaching her 6 week birthday, they say that is the peak fussiness (whoever they is, has not met my 21 month old Emily ha ha....not really). But I am also cutting out dairy to see if that is bothering her. I didn't put milk in my oatmeal this morning and I have to say it was missing something Rowlett's dirt water didnt' taste so great. But she has been less irritable today.

Matthew is in Scotland until Sunday-perfect timing huh? I can hear them at work "Nielsen has a newborn at home, lets send him." Just kidding, there are only 3 of them in his department and the head haunchO went as well. I will say it's a little overwhelming. So much so I forgot to set my alarm this morning and Peyton did not make it to school today. Luckily, I have great friends who have made plans with me for this weekend (thanks Megan and Shannon) so I can have some adult conversation.

Weight Loss

Okay I took the plunge and started doing Weight Watchers Core plan and this week I have lost 6 pounds. Yes 6 pounds. I'm loving this plan. You would think it would be hard, because basically you are only allowed to eat healthy food but it is so easy. It keeps me accountable as well. Obviously I know what foods to eat (considering my unused nutrition degree) but the accountability with myself is HUGE!!!

The State Fair of Texas

We went to the fair this year with friends from our play group (Dads and all). Evidently, we picked the hottest day to go, I thought we were going to melt. The kids had a blast, as you can see Emily loved her first ride with her friend Katherine (don't you love the tongue sticking out?). Peyton had a blast as well. He was so excited to have his friends there.
Last year at the fair Peyton got his faced painted like a tiger and he has talked about it for a year, so of course we had to get it painted again. Daddy had them add LSU on his cheek so he was an LSU tiger. ROAR!!
Waiting for the parade with friends. We started play group when Peyton was 4 months old, so he has literally grew up with Ashley and Reid. We missed the rest of our gang, hopefully they can come next year.
