Sunflower Festival

We went to Shreveport this weekend and attended a sunflower festival just north of the city. It was a lot of fun. Peyton and I rode in a big RV with his cousins Jan, Julie, Jim, Jeanine, and Jan's neighbors. I loved hanging out with our family, but it was HOT.

I loved this quilt hanging in a door way. Believe it or not I do quilt. I haven't worked on my blanket in a long time, but it's in my closet just waiting.

Here is Jan. She is hysterical. She wasn't so keen on her picture being taken, but I got it anyways. Love you Jan!
Here is Beverly holding Allie at lunch. She was so tired and found a comfy place in Beverly's arms. She is like an aunt to my children.

Look at this big old dog. Her name is Mandy and my kids took to her quickly. It's funny because Peyton and Emily are both afraid of little dogs, but not big dogs.

Julie has a huge garden and brought some veggies for her mom Jan. I just love all the colorful veggies piled up in this bucket.
Here is Peyton holding a squealing piglet. He ended up dropping the piglet (which was not hurt). Matthew and I kind of got onto him for it and upset him. Once we were walking around his eyes filled up with tears and said "can I go apologize to the pig?" I felt awful for saying anything to him. I have to learn that I don't have to address every little issue. Matthew ended up paying $2.00 to take him back in the petting zoo, where Peyton "built" a better bed for the piglet with hay. I have to remember that Peyton is very perceptive and very sensitive.
This was my favorite picture all day. I think I'm going to blow this one up for my house.
